Technical transformation is the key project related to smooth running of thermal power plant. During the implementation of transformation, it will be a large amount of revenue for thermal power plant to reduce costs, shorten the construction period and improve the controllability of the project, by way of running the idea of project management and project schedule control.This paper selected the Shenhua Dianta thermal power plant as the research object. Firstly, it compared the characteristics and development of the inverter technology. And it summarized the theory and methods of the project schedule management. Secondly, this paper decomposed process structure of the project by integrated using of Gantt chart and network diagram method. This paper analyzed and calculated the time of project activities. It formulated optimization of the schedule according to the activities of the unit cost of the project. It concluded that the probability of the completion of the schedule of the project schedule is improved from 9.7% to 87% before the optimization of the project. Again, this paper find out the factors influencing the progress of the project, the four factors which construction quality, construction safety, cost of investment, construction technology are the most important factor affecting the progress of the project. They were the key of control activity. Finally, this paper analyzed the successful completion of the project schedule should take supporting and security measures, and compared the project implementation effect. Results show that after the transformation of the feed water pump in energy saving, efficiency has been greatly improved.The research methods and results of this paper provided some guiding on frequency conversion transformation project progress control and successful completion for thermal power plant. And meanwhile This paper has some reference for other engineering project management in the progress plan and control problem.
