The smart grid is an important measure to solve the problem of energy shortage, environmental pollution, and realize the strong and reliable operation of modern power grid with complex structure and huge scale. Smart distribution grid is an important part of smart grid construction, and self-healing is one of the core functions of smart distribution grid. Modern society has put forward higher request to the power quality and supply reliability. City distribution grid failure, the power fault in particularly, whose regional load was in highly dense, will cause great economic losses and political influence.Based on the domestic and foreign smart distribution grid self-healing control research, the development history, the definition, the functional requirements, the key problems, the developing trend of smart distribution grid have been analyzed in this paper. Combined with the characteristics of 35 k V smart distribution grid and pilot projects in large and medium-sized city promoted by China State Grid, whose distribution automation and operation management is in high level, this paper has done some research work on the model building and method solving for the city smart distribution grid 35 k V power fault based on self-healing control. The specific work is as follows:(1) Self-healing control analysis and modeling of city smart distribution network 35 k V power fault. The characteristics of city distribution network have been analyzed. The 35 k V city distribution network model based on graph theory and the improved hierarchical model analysis method of topological structure has been established. The forward and backward power flow calculation method is applied in 35 k V distribution network. The self-healing control model of economic and constraints of 35 k V power fault have been put forward. Comprehensive evaluation method of self-healing control scheme is put forward.(2) Self-healing control strategy and application of city smart distribution grid 35 k V power fault. The basic construction and related support technology of city 35 k V distribution network are analyzed. Combining with the fault treatment principles of existing substation operation management and the foundation of smart distribution network 35 k V power failure analysis model as above, the smart distribution grid 35 k V power fault self-healing control strategy and corresponding solving methods are put forward. The validity of the analysis model and solving strategies is validated through the analysis of simulation results of a practical engineering example.
