10kV distribution gird is the end of the power system, mainly to distribute and supplypower to the load-side, so its operation reliability directly affects the stability and powerquality customers. The goal of improving the reliability of distribution network is to minimizethe frequence and the times of power failure, or avoid power failure, thereby it can enhancethe quality of power supply and reduce the economic losses caused by power outages.With the development of society, people’s life is improving, Power customerrequirements on power supply reliability is getting higher and higher. Power interruption willnot only cause economic loss of social production, but also affect people’s lives order. Thereliability of distribution system is an important indicator to measure the ability of continuouspower supply of power system. In order to provide our customers with the electric powersupply is more safe and reliable, and make the power supply of the social and economicbenefits to achieve the optimal, research on the reliability of distribution system is verynecessary.This thesis studied the operational reliability of10kV distribution grid, variousconstraints, statistical indicators and evaluation indicators have been analysized, it haveproposed management and technical measures to increase the operational reliability of thedistribution grid. By analyzing the structure of distribution grid and studying the impaction ofstructure on reliability, we have builded a data structure of "distribution grid-Substations-feeder line-segment-Equipment"for medium voltage distribution network. Using the "feeder line ",which is the basic unit of the10kV distribution gird,as a research starting point,it has researched and analysised the measures to improve reliability of the power supplycombined with feeder automation technology、fault location technology and rapid restorationtechnology.Combined with the concept of smart distribution grids, it has studied how to enhanceself-defense and self-healing capabilities of the10kV distribution grid through the applicationof self-healing control technology、distribution automation technology and other advancedtechnologies. Which provided development ideas of10kV distribution grid for Xiaolan Town,Zhongshan City. Meanwhile, its findings can also be used as reference for10kV distributiongrids of other medium-developed cities.
