With the development of the economy and society, institutions of power system are more and more complex. In the meanwhile, electricity demand is also increasing, and people more and more depend on the electric energy. Electric power has become one of the main energy, so reliability and security of the power system has become an important factor in development of national economic and social. In recent years, Large-scale blackouts of electrical power systems have been occurring from time to time around the world. How to effectively avoid blackouts and how to minimize the impact of the outage occurred after the accident are dependent on the ability of the grid monitoring system to deal with the accident. In other words, a reliable power grid monitoring system with general controllers is required. The controllers should have the experience to deal with the accident .One way of gaining personal work experience is dealing with the actual accident, another way is to simulate the accident situation. So, all these problems need to be solved from improving the reliability of power dispatching automation system. According to the "sanjiwuda" project of the national grid company on how to construct the electric running system, in order to deepen professional skills, integrate dispatching and command, extend operating range, promote the equipment monitoring and management level, we should build a intelligent scheduling system, which can meet the requirement of the development of cities and countries and shown the importance of informationization, automation interaction and intelligentization. In this paper, the reliability of the dispatching automation system has been researched by analyzing important segments of the system, such as dispatching automation system(master station system), transmission channel, the main station, back-up power and lightning protection. Then the design solutions are proposed to improve the reliability of the system. This work is not only of strategic significance, but also serve the needs of our time.
