Analysing the causes of those accidents, summarizing the lessons from the accidents is to avoid similar accidents. There is no certain cause framework to analysis the bridge collapse accidents. And then it’s useful to select the right tool to deal with a lot of data. As the case study, to analysis the cause of the bridge collapse accident in Harbin using Rasmussen’s framework based on NVivo software. And then to analysis the causes the bridge collapse accidents in China in the past ten years, make reference for bridge collapse accident prevention. The main research contents of this paper is as follows:1、Reviewing literature and study the theoretical research to determine the cause framework to study the cause of the bridge collapsed accidents--Rasmussen’s framework.2、Selecting the bridge collapse accident in Harbin as the case study, multi-angle collected all kinds of information about the accident, without the accident investigation report, on the basis of using Nvivo software dealing with the data collected, combined with Rasmussen’s framework, analysis the accident cause. To validate the practicability and validity of the cause framework and the data analysis tools through case study.3、To collecte data about the bridge collapse accidents in ten years, using NVivo software copes with these data in standard and unified coding process, so as to establish a bridge collapse accident database. According to many accidents collapse accident causes are analyzed and summarized, sum up the common loopholes in bridge safety management in China, and put forward corresponding countermeasure base on them.
