Wet multi-disc brake is a kind of disc brake whose friction disc is sealed with the cooling fluid in brake shell, used widely in recent years due to the prominent braking performance. In the field of engineering machinery, dry brake was replaced gradually by wet multi-disc which had much superior braking performance. Compared with the dry brake, wet multi-disc brake ha d some merits, such as the large capacity of braking torque, the great stability of braking performance, the strong adaptability to environment, the long service life, and the strong advantages of pollution resistance and heat fading resistance. With the development of the automobile transportation business and industrial demand for capacity, wet multi-disc brake will be widely used on heavy vehicle, this paper studies the wet multi-disc brake designed for heavy vehicle as the research object, proceeding with the design and calculation of brake, then three-dimensional entity modeling, temperature field analysis an d related research about the mechanism of vibration and noise. This paper’s main work includes the following aspects:On the basis of reading a large amount of literature s, this paper summarizes the working principle of wet multi-disc brake, the status of research and application at home and abroad, presents the research contents, and technical route for this paper;According to the parameters of a certain type of heavy vehicle, the national standard about the requirement of braking efficiency of heavy vehicle, and the reference to the existing wet multi-disc brake, some preliminary basic parameters are selected, to calculate the key design parameters of wet multi-disc brake to meet the requirement of braking efficiency of heavy vehicle, and to make the necessary intensity checking calculation, eventually to determine the design parameters of wet multi-disc brake. According to the design parameters, the entity model of wet multi-disc brake is completed by using the Solid Works, the three-dimensional modeling software;A mathematic model of the friction dis c surface temperature field is established, to solve the transient value of the friction dis c surface temperature. Compared the results of mathematical model with the results of ANSYS simulation, the model is tested validly and reliably. Analyze the influ encing factors of friction disc surface temperature field, then present some measures to make the distribution of temperature field uniformly;Friction pair is the main parts of braking vibration and noise, the friction pair of wet multi-disc brake is completed the analysis of vibration modal characteristics by using the ANSYS, the finite element analysis software, then make the preliminary grasp about the mechanism of braking vibration and noise. The above results feedback to the design and calculation, established some theoretical foundations for the design of wet multi-disc brake and its inhibition of vibration and noise;Finally, do some summaries for this paper, point out the innovations and shortcomings, and prospect the research for the future in this paper.
