With the rapid development of our economy and general improvment of residents’living conditons,the retain number of urban residents’automobiles has highly increaced.Thus parking problem of these automobiles has became an obstacle in cities’ decelopment.This paper trys to design a reletively steady and effective embeded parking lots management system to meet the demands of most parking lots management in present.This system mainly includes two parts:hardware and software.First,the frame of parking lots system is described and a intelligent parking lots managemen t system based on ARM is designd according to the current demands.In the hardware system of this design, the main control module of the parking lots management system is designed with Corter-A8 as its core to connect the submodules and manage the logic control over the whole system.The Parking Information Collection Module is designed with a magnetic sensor as its core to detect every lot’s parking availability status.The Plate Number Collection Module is designed with a CCD camera as its core to cellect the plate information.The Vacancy Display Module is designed with a LCD screen and WM9714 audio decode chip as its core to display vacancy information and instruct the automobiles about the matters need attention.The In And Out Detection Module is structured with geomagnetic induction coil as its core to detect whether there is automobile getting in at the entrance or getting out at the exit.In the software of the design,the system uses embeded Linux OS,it has system related Linux device driver program at the same time.then this paper proposes a classification management algorithm which classify all the automobile into VIP、regular and outsider.VIPs will be reserved permenent parking lots,regulars will be reserved ramdon parking lots,outsiders will be managed in conditions from time to time according to parking information collected.Thus the efficiency of parking lots can be vastly increased.Then based on the management algorithm,I wrote the application program for each of modules above. At last,the system through repeated tests finally runs steadily and realizes the intelligent management of parking lots.
