With the progress of society and the development of science and technology, high-risebuildings become a trend in the new era of building and the representative of the cityimage. The problem of land resources could be solved effectively by high-rise buildings,and this kind of building create a new field of building structure including reinforcedconcrete frame structure, tube in tube structure, staggered floor structure and theframe-core tube structure with strengthening layer and so on. With the layers’increasing,the impact of the seismic load and wind load is More and more serious, and this kind ofstructure strengthening layer is precisely in order to control the lateral sway and thecylinder bending moment of high-rise building. The increase of strengthening layernumber can make the structure more uniform, and it is uneasy for the structure to appearweak layer, however, the unreasonable configuration of strengthening layer will reduce theseismic capacity of the structure to a great extent, as a result, the stiffness, number andlocation of strengthening layer should be set up reasonably to guarantee the seismicperformance.As for the current situation, beam strengthening layer is widely used in China, but theresearch on reinforced concrete truss strengthening layer should be deeply enhanced, it canbe seen that there are many aspects need to be improved and perfected for the frame-coretube structure with strengthening layer. It is meaningful to study the mechanicalcharacteristics and mechanism of this kind of structure, based on predecessors’ researchresults, this paper carried out the following work:1. Introduced the present situation and development trend of high-rise buildingstructure briefly, summarized the definition of the frame-core tube structure withstrengthening layer, generalized the present situation, species, mechanical performance, themerits and shortcomings of the frame-core tube structure with strengthening layer, andstated that the study on he frame-core tube structure with strengthening layer wasnecessary and significant.2. In this paper, a office building of frame-core tube structure with strengthening layerin Shijiazhuang was took for example. PKPM and Midas building was used to buildmodels, mode-superposition response spectrum method of Midas building was employedto analyze models with different numbers of strengthening layer, obtained the modalcharacteristics such as vibration mode cycle and modal participation factor quality in orderto further analysis of the seismic performance.3. Analyzed the seismic performance of the above four models under the horizontalearthquake action, summarized the calculation results under earthquake action in X and Ydirection, and compared the modal cycle, interlayer displacement, the floor displacementand shear force value to provide the reference for the design of the numbers ofstrengthening layer. Analyzed the seismic performance of part of models, the strengtheninglayer of which were in different location, summarized the calculation result, and comparemode cycle, interlayer displacement Angle and bending moment to provide the referencefor the design of the location of strengthening layer.4. Made elastic dynamic analysis under frequent earthquake on the first four modelsby SATWE, and used two natural wave and one artificial wave. EPDA was applied tomake elastic-plastic dynamic analysis to obtain the changes in interlayer displacementangle and the top floor displacement, and achieved reasonable number of strengtheninglayer of this structure by comparative analysis.5. The study of this paper was inadequate in some ways, and the scope of thisresearch is relatively limited. Along with the increase of the height and the complexity of the structure, strengthening layer arrangement becomes much more difficult to grasp,therefore, the research work on the frame-core tube structure with strengthening layer isvery necessary.
