The comfort in train compartments is rising with the continuous development of technology and people’s rising needs. Air conditioning technology becomes more common and more advanced on trains. Air conditioning unit on the train is different with air conditioning unit in other environment. Under the premise of meeting the special environment, air conditioning unit on the train should be guaranteed the normal operation、safety and reliability. When Air conditioning unit is designed, Strength analysis and dynamic analysis are conducted to ensure that performance meets requirements.In this paper, the FEA model of KLD27 unit is built by ANSYS finite element analysis software. At the same time, static strength, fatigue strength, bolt connections, rivet connections and modal are analyzed. Details are as follows:(1) Command stream is used to build the FEA model of KLD27 unit. In order to simulate the connections of the frame, Shell63 element is selected to build the frame model including beams and thin plates. As for accessories such as compressor, condenser etc., element Mass21 is used. Quad element is used to mesh the model which has 144 503 nodes, 142 160 elements and the size of the quad element is 10 mm.(2) Six crash loads of the FEA model of KLD27 unit are analyzed in static strength analysis, and the results meet the requirements.(3) Three fatigue loads of the FEA model of KLD27 unit are analyzed in fatigue strength analysis, and the results meet the requirements.(4) The bolt connections and rivet connections are analyzed, and the results meet the requirements.(5) In order to study the vibration characteristics of the KLD27 unit, modal analysis is carried out to determine the natural frequencies and modal shape.By studying the contents, reliability and security of the KLD27 unit have certain reference value.
