Smart Home is a residential platform, using a variety of different technologies(cabling, security, automatic control, network communications, etc.) to connect life related facilities together, and to provide users with a safe, convenient and comfortable life. On the basis of in-depth study the current status of the development of smart home, this paper aims to resolve the current prevalence of smart home wiring difficulties, poor flexibility, poorsafety assurance as well as remote accessing and other issues. Cloud computing and Io T technology were used to design a new smart home system. The main content of the paper are as follows:1. Towards wiring difficult and inflexible issues, on the basis of analysis and comparison of different wireless communication technology, a new method using Wi-Fi and Zigbee technologies to set up a home network was proposed. The Wi-Fi component was responsible for connecting the devices supporting wlan, while the Zigbee componets in charge of indoor and outdoor sensor network for environmental monitoring, device controling. The routing component can exchang information with local terminals and sensors, and conneting to the cloud center safely Wi-Fi.2. For remote accessing requirments, taking advantage of cloud computing technology to support users accessing and managing the local network from remote locations. Specifically, the router can use Wi-Fi to connect home appliances,Wi-Fi use TI2530 Zigbee coordinator to build ultra-low power sensor network, users can use PC or mobile phone to access home network and manage devices, configuing offline download, even browsing IP cameras through the help of the cloud center at anytime and from anywhere.3. For safety issues, this paper implements the communication between the cloud center and home network using SSL-VPN to ensure network security. The username / password combination was used for authentication. In addition, a solution of connecting on-demand was proposed in order to reduce the load of the cloud center.4. Design and implement the cloud center in PHP as well as the Apache server. The cloud center is responsible for handling connecting requests from the routers, the new user registrations, user logins and other communications. My SQL is selected ad the database for the cloud center. The configuration module of Apache reverse proxy server was modified to implement the communications from the cloud center to home networks.5. The MT7620 N wireless router solution was selected as the core of the home network. A custom UI system, composed of Go Ahead Web Server, VPN proxy, Zigbee gateway proxy, Control Agent, Aria2, Samba and other parts was implemented based on Ralink SDK4.1.2. Control Agent and VPN proxy heartbeats mechanism to facilitate the router connected to the cloud center on demand. Zigbee gateway proxy used the CC2530 module is running on the inside of the router and is responsible for interpretations, conversion and forwarding inter-network messages to.Finally, a complete system prototype of the cloud center was established for testing and verifying. With the help of the routers and various dedicated devices, the result shows that the system designing is feasible, stable, and easy to use.
