With the development of science and technology, people benefit a lot from the highly developed highway. However, the traffic accidents occur frequently in the highway, leading to a great threat to the human life and property. Traditionally, the official highway management system cannot monitor the state of running vehicles and provide valid support for emergency scheduling applications. In order to tackle these issues, people exploit 3G, GPS and embedded technology to develop the embedded vehicle terminals, which provide rich functions, such as the real-time video capture, the 3G transmission, the GPS localization, the trunked scheduling, and the highway operation management capability.To assist highway administration, the vehicle terminal not only meets urgent needs, but also can be realized by existing techniques. The scheduling center can remotely collect information from the local spot and makes decision accordingly, which can improve the highway management service. Accordingly, this thesis designs and implements a vehicle terminal, which is developed for the road maintenance and the blocking object removing. The detail of this thesis can be summarized as follows:1、This study discusses functional requirements of the vehicle terminal, and puts forward the hardware design based on TI Davinci processor(TM320DM365), then, the schematic design of each module is introduced in detail.2、This study employs the high-speed PCB design and the Cadence SI/PI simulation tools, i.e., some critical signal ports are simulated and some relevant layout constraints are derived for our PCB. In addition, we also run the post-layout timing simulation for the DDR circuit, and the result shows a reasonable performance.3、The Graphical User Interface of vehicle terminal is designed through Qt software, including the operation process, the video display, the voice communication and keyboard interface.Finally, we point out again that this thesis provides a practical design for vehicle terminal, and we apply it to a highway operation management system sucessfully.
