A Further Research On Maintenance & Repair Of Ocean Ship

With the deep development of world economy and ship industry, waterway transport has been the main mode for foreign trade among countries. The development and use of ocean resource has also been one of the factors to boost our country’s economy. So in order to guarantee our country’s rights and benefits, keeping the routs smooth has been the main task to construct the coastal defense. It is necessary to perform effective repair at sea for running ships and their failed equipments to keep ships run effectively. In terms of merchant ships, maintenance & repair of ocean ships is receiving more and more attention as well as more and more requirements with the development of shipping industry and aggravation of the competition. Ship maintenance and repair problem is an important component of the modernized operation and management of the shipping companies. When and how to repair the ships will directly affect the economic benefits of the company.Ship maintenance and repair is one of the most important parts of the company’s technical management. Based on analysis of development status of ship maintenance and repair home and abroad, this paper introduces the new theories as well as problems in this area and then draws out the new proposal accordingly.The new proposal raised in this paper is to expand the land-based maintenance and repair work to sea which is more interested in downtime saving than cost saving and can be used both in military vessels and merchant ships.
