The construction of the smart city is the inevitable requirement of city construction, and the inevitable result of the development of industrial automation and information technology.T he streetlight network plays a very important role in the construction of the smart city, it combines the normal city infrastructure networking system which is isolated with each other, it is the skeleton and blood vessels of the smart city. The underground pipeline network is an important foundation for the normal operation of the city. In developed countries, the underground pipeline management system has become a mature industry, many companies has its own product of underground pipeline management system. The development of underground pipe management system in China remains on the construction on drawing the GIS map. These years the underground pipeline management system based on GIS is very mature, the urgent demand of our country is to develop a real-time, high accuracy underground pipeline monitoring system.This paper analyzes the current research and development situation of underground pipe network monitoring system at present, summarizes and analyzes the problems existed in the construction of underground pipe network management system and difficulties in construction a new generation underground pipeline network monitoring system, proposes a set of monitoring system of underground pipeline based on the streetlight wireless network system. By using the streetlight wireless network system, we solved the cost problem in large area coverage of sensor nodes and raised the location accuracy and realized the real-time alarm and fault location function. The system also uses the frequently-used design of cloud platform interface in the newest control system, breaking the closed design of traditional Internet of things system, the underground pipeline monitoring data can be better utilized.
