The Research Of LED Road Lighting’s Performance Requirements And Testmethods

In recent years, the popularization of the LED road lighting has been a trend. LED road lighting with the advantages of high luminous efficiency, long life, energy saving and environmental protection etc, are being increasingly used on our roads. As we see, with the gradual expansion of LED road lighting application, the corresponding technology is growing as well. However, today the technology of LED road lighting has developed to a high level, but we still don’t have some comprehensive and objective stardards or bases to test and evaluate the perfomance of them.The author of this article has being engaged in testing of electric lighting source for more than 10 years, has being engaged in testing of LED lighting products for more than 7 years. In my work, I have tested a lot of LED road lightings. I realized under the high speed development of LED road lighting technologis, there still don’t have some comprehensive and objective stardards or bases to test and evaluate them. In this article, the aim is to establish a comprehensive, objective and reliable basis for the LED road lighting’s perfomance test and judgement acording the existing standards, the practical using and our LED road lighting test examples.In this article, for the performance of LED road lighting, the analysis will focus in parts of the photoelectic properties in the laboratory, the lighting scene and the reliability of the technical requirements and test methods. Based on the tests of LED lighting products, according to the existing standards of LED road lighting and the technology of LED road lighting produce, practical using and tests. For the existing standards, parts of applicative performance requirements and test methods have been retained. Imperfect performance requirements and test methods have been improved. The controversial requirements have been canceled. And I have some new definitions for power supply compatibility, color temperature, temperature & humidity reliability and drop test performance requirements and test methods which are not in the existing standards. Find a suitable performance requirements and test methods for LED road lighting.This performance requirements and test methods for LED road lighting will supply technical reference for LED road lighting factories and some other research or test institutions. Also, will be the reference for the establish of standards.
