Vibration casting is able to improve the mechanical properties and the grain size,enhancing the sealing and the fatigue strength of casting. The majority of research both home and abroad concentrate on the influence made by two important process parameters called frequency and amplitude, however few literature pay attention to the in-depth study for vibration casting opportunity. This paper focuses on vibration casting opportunity of booster valve body of car. Vibration casting time is divided into three time periods. In addition, this paper has its certain value on different vibration casting periods for theoretical analysis and experimental research. In this paper, the main findings and achievements are as following:1. Research on ultrasonic vibration theory before pouring、dynamics analysis when pouring、thermo-dynamics and shrinkage porosity analysis when solidification and study the theory of vibration solidification to promote the dendrite crushing as well. To analysis the vibration casting opportunity, found that each time period vibration plays an important role in improving the quality of the casting, and refining the best effect of vibration in metal solidification early. Vibration when pouring begins has a better effect on grain refinement than vibration when pouring ends.2. This paper has detailed analyzed the Booster valve body of car, statistics of the types and distribution of body defect, analyzed the causes of typical defects of the valve body. Used simulation software named Procast to car booster valve body study on numerical simulation of casting process, founding out the best process parameters(750℃pouring temperature,0.4kg/s pouring rate and 200℃ die temperature).3. The vibration casting program was based on orthogonal test, analyzed the operating principle of shake-out equipment. According to the original casting machine, chose the important parts of the equipment, designed the car booster valve body mold and set up the experimental technology platform.4. Vibration casting experiment was carried out and analyzed the differences of mechanical properties, solidification organization, grain size and the fatigue strength of casting under different vibration time. There is an optimal process parameters combination(A1B3C2),15 s vibration in the former casting, 9s vibration in the casting, 100 s vibration in the solidification in the former casting, 9s vibration in the casting, 100 s vibration in the solidification.This paper has a research on the theoretical and experimental analysis of vibration casting time, provided the basis for the process parameters optimization of vibration time for ZL107 car booster valve body, provided the reference for the vibration opportunity of the important products.
