Pingzhuang reservoir is the second phase of XinZheng Airport project, and the foundation ofreservoir belongs to soft soil layer. The foundation treatment mainly uses the method of dynamic compaction. The existence of soft soil in reservoir bottom made geological conditions relatively complex. The thick silt of some local depressions is about two meters deep, and the uniformity of silt is poor. It prone lead to uneven settlement during the airport runtime after the project completion. The excessive differential settlement will lead to generation of secondary geological disasters such as collapses, cracks, not only directly affect the usability of space structure which affects the safe operation of aircraft, but also lead to the loss of the venue durability in the long run.This paper main research the application of dynamic compaction method by the second phase of the soft soil foundation treatment project of XinZheng airport. The author made related researches of mechanism of dynamic compaction method to reinforce foundation, construction design and construction process. Finally, the paper used ABAQUS software to simulate construction process of dynamic compaction and draw some conclusions.(1)The dynamic compaction method has been widely used in engineering, and the reinforcement mechanism of which mainly can be explained in three areas such as dynamic compaction, dynamic consolidation and vibration wave pressure compaction.(2) The theoretical design of dynamic compaction method is influenced by soil, and various factors, so the dynamic compaction parameters should combine theory and experience to rational design in actual project.(3)There are so many factors affect the actual construction of dynamic compaction method. The design construction and construction process should consider every factor. It is necessary to site test ram to guide the construction before the specific construction if the workers have no relevant experiences.(4)ABAQUS software using the constitutive model to simulate the construction of dynamic compaction, and got some conclusions in the following directions: the optimal compaction times, stress and effective reinforcement depth direction.
