With the scale of the hospital increased year by year, the energy consumption is getting much bigger along with the increasing of the equipment used in the hospital. As the biggest energy consumption in the hospital, more than 40% of electronic energy is used for it. So it is vital to do the work of energy conservation in the air conditioning system.This paper introduces the general situation and basic information about the inpatient building of Ruian Peaple’s Hospital, and the original design proposal. Based on the analysis of the problem, which existed in the central air conditioning system of the Ruian People’s Hospital’s in-patient building before reconstruction was done, gives out the reason for low operation energy efficiency issues and bigger power consumption. By doing the calculation gives out the real reason accounting for low efficiencyThe main problems of the original system lies in low system reliability, for all the affiliated machine including the pump, cooling tower and the chiller are one-to-one mapping, can’t backup for each other. The poor cooling effects of the cooling tower brings about high temperature of the cool water, thus cause the chiller low efficiency and high consumer. Low transmission coefficient of the cool pump and chilled pump also cause the high energy consumption. Propose the improvement according to the cause then do the reconstruction to the cooling water system, chilled water system,cooling towers, cooling pump, chilled pump and chiller, so the system working under the best status, so the energy efficiency of the refrigeration system and the whole system is the best.Based on the analysis of running cost before and after the reconstruction, comes out the energy saving rate can be up to 28%.The capital pay-off term comes out to 5 years, which means the energy-saving effect is remarkable.
