Braking is the basic condition in the process of train running. Heavy freight trains on the line of the national railway, the Datong-Qinhuangdao Railway, Shuo Huang railway has been opened ton train, but for some special lines like grew ramp, conventional air brake can not meet the development needs of speed overloaded and limit train Dora Run to a certain extent, it seriously restricted the transport capacity of the railway. Heavy freight trains commonly used conventional air brake, in the braking process of the ramp up in charge air pressure due to the locomotive brake air compressor in the long ramp consumes large resulting in brake shoe hug wheelset makes the wheel tread and rail top surface friction, and the shoe and wheel tread friction loss, so that the wheel produce deformation, long term operation is bound to damage, impact damage on the line and pose a great threat for traffic safety, friction will produce a lot of noise and harmful dust pollution, and it is contrary to the national energy conservation policy.Train rim eddy current brake is tied to the original brake system, and it designs a real-electric braking system, which belongs to non-friction brake. Eddy current brake system used in conjunction with the original brake system, it not only can ensure traffic safety of heavy freight trains, but also achieve the train Dora Run. Train rim eddy current brake device has many advantages such as low maintenance, long life, high reliability, energy saving, environmental protection, soft braking, smooth and so on.Based on the thought of eddy current brake rim train to design and produce eddy current brake test rig and did a series of experiments, including the principle of verification eddy current brake and influencing factors.According to the characteristics of heavy freight trains and bogies,this thesis designed electromagnetic structure and appearance of the structure of the eddy current brake rim train. And it also designed assembly effect by the three-dimensional software ProE.The braking torque calculation of eddy current brake rim train. Combining with the domestic and foreign calculation method of eddy current brake torque to select the appropriate method from the working principle of eddy current brake rim train, it is calculation braking torque of eddy current brake rim train and to analysis factors in the calculation process.This thesis based on the basic theory of the electromagnetic field to analyze the design of electromagnetic of the eddy current brake train rim, and using Ansoft software coupled analysis its magnetic field intensity, the vortex field by the finite element method(FEM).
