Landscape Form And Function Analysis Of City Villages In Guangzhou

City village is a special combination with a villager’s long-living place and thedevelopment of a modern society. In China， a large amount of villages around the citycenter， whose landscape form has been huge changes， choose an innovation road bypromoting city agriculture. In the meanwhile， we humans have march into a new era whichpeople create their living place by aesthetics， which make it a higher demand to landscapedesign and landscape function.This paper uses some theories of Landscape Ecology， Urban Morphology，Landscape Morphology， Urban Planning and Aesthetics to analyze the landscape form andlandscape function of the city villages in GuangZhou. The research methods utilized in thispaper includes figure-ground method， space sequence relation method， field researchmethod and questionnaire survey.There are three innovation points in this paper. Firstly， only a few scholars didresearch into the landscape form and function of the city village in the past. Secondary， it isthe first time to analyze the landscape form of a city village by a concrete field likeGuangZhou. Thirdly， the author not only analyze the landscape form of a village but alsolink it to the landscape function or value.It can be concluded according to what was told in the paper that:First of all， the city village have both agricultural trait and social trait. The city villageis a conduction of the constantly growth of the economy， a more accelerate urbanizationand improvement of people’s living quality.In addition， the elements of a village landscape covering the traditional hard elementsand agricultural soft elements. The plane modality of a city village is surround type，compete type and permeate type.Otherwise， the main function of a village’s landscape form is composed of appreciation，historical education， eco-environment protection and tourism.What’s more， the city villages in GuangZhou basically meet the individual’s need andreserve the splendid civilization. However， the newly-presented landscape form which hasbroken the original spatial order also brought us a series of thought-provoking problem.
