In the trend of globalization and urbanization, the city needs to have its own unique mark, the city portal landscape show the image, culture, the development of the concept of the window of the city. Then on basis of a large number of relevant literature, expounds the concept of urban gateway landscape, elements and its characteristics, in order to better understand the urban gateway landscape system structure and function and, for the following research provide basic data and reference (Chapter 2).The third chapter and the fourth chapter are based on o the analysis of the first two chapters, in-depth study and summary of the design principles and methods of urban portal landscape. In the third chapter, the principle of urban landscape design is put forward. The principle is based on the establishment of the system of the urban gateway landscape, and the integration of ecology and culture, as well as the basis of making the landscape more humanized. The fourth chapter is about the general process and method of the urban gateway landscape design, details of the contents and key points of each step were described in detail, for the urban gateway landscape can be in compliance with the basic principles of the premise, in the most effective way to practice in implementation and operation.Chapter five selected the five urban gateway landscape design case, specific analysis, including the location, the concept, specific design technique, and summarizes which is worth reference points, to enrich the urban gateway landscape design ideas.
