| To incorporate the development of our times into history, and thus make it transcending the history, we will need a faith. That is, to carry forward the traditions, and dare to innovate. The attitude towards inheriting traditional gardens has been changed from complete denial in the past to taking the essence and discarding the dregs now. Anyway, comparing to the growth in thought, our action is still legging behind. The essence of traditional gardens lies in constructing the space, emotion, artistry, culture, ecology and so on, which are missing in modern landscape design. Thus,"stepping back into the past, searching for a future" not only shows our desire for traditional culture, but fill the vacancy of modern landscape design.This thesis aims to analyze the methods of garden-making from a rational standpoint, and integrate the relative four points-idea, element, space, artistry into it, and finally achieve a systematic theory study. The method, idea, space and element in garden-making are related to each other; therefore it is necessary to analyze these three items relative to method. Basing on above analysis, the author points out the problems existing in modern landscape design, also in the process of inheriting the history and innovating. And based on the application of traditional garden-making method in modern landscape design, the author aims to achieve a guiding effect on the problems in inheritance in future landscape design.This thesis presents its study by synthesizing the theory study, case analysis (comparing and analyzing the application of France landscape in Western, and Japanese traditional landscape in its modern design), and the practice and application. The author combines traditional garden-making method into analyzing the application of modern landscape design, and finally finds out a number of effective theoretical models for modern landscape design.(1) Innovation in space type:To develop varieties by extracting the space types, and finally achieve innovation in space by topological deformation.(2) Innovation in element:By reconstructing the elements, combining the character of materials, to achieve coexistence of tradition and modern in gardening.(3) Innovation in artistry:Combining the correspondence of modern life and personalization of pursuing artistry.(4) Exploration1st-Innovation in space construction:Space is recognized by methods, so the innovation of space structure mainly origins from the following three exploring ways: simplicity of classic, simplification of composition and prototypes which are deconstructed.(5) Exploration2nd-Re-expression on form and language of space:The distinct characteristic of method lies in form, thus the exploring way mainly origins from:abstract metaphor and simple repetition. (6) Exploration3rd-In theory it composes a space mode:Exploration in space mode is created mainly by combining Exploration1st into Exploration2nd, and mainly in the following three modes:Under the guide of both modern and traditional ideas in designing, keep the gardening element unchanged, and apply Exploration1st; keep space structure unchanged, and apply Exploration2nd; make element and space changed, and apply Exploration1st&Exploration2nd.Finally, under the above theory basis and exploration, the author Investigated and analyzed the landscape designs of the Suzhou Museum (New) and the Fifth Garden by Vanke in Shenzhen. And with the application of his personal design in projects-Zhangzhou Longhai Diamond Coast Landscape Design, Xiamen Real Yinchun Villa and Guangxi Bobaijindijiayuan Landscape design, the author aims in verifying the merit in application of methods, and feasibility of theoretical exploration modes mentioned in the above. |
