Research On Application Of Water In Architectural Space Shaping

Everything in the world cannot be separated from the water, it maintains people’s life, and prospers cities very well.Following by the deepening understanding of water, the scope of the water use has become even more widely, and water becomes to be irreplaceable element in the shaping of building space. The physical and cultural characteristics of water help us to add countless possibilities of building space design.Water, not only can be modified from the real vision, but also can increase the cultural atmosphere of the building space. Finally, it makes the built environment perfect both in the requirements of material function and spirit.This article is different from the articles in the part which focused on the landscape design, but it is about the water would be an important element on building space design, it services for building-core space system.The author analysis the method of shaping space by water in two layers, is the water in the environment and the water in the architecture. Focus on analysis and summary of the physical relationships and the combined ways of water, seize the characteristics of water, in-depth study of the role of water in spatial form, and create a space atmosphere, increase the level of space and connect the different layers of space. The analysis is about different eras and regions of architecture and landscape, and the author is looking forward to standing higher perspective to see the water be used in the environmental space.
