Research On Facade Of Art Deco Style For High-rise Residential Buildings

In recent years, the Art Deco style is very often to see for residential building. The Art Deco-style high-rise residential facade not only meets the needs of people’s humanity after the simple and cold modernist facade, but also meets the urban environment which is mixed with a large number of office buildings. The Art Deco style shows height elegant and seeing-bear for high-rise residence, and becomes more and more acceptable by the common people、real estate developers and the government departments.In this article, I research on the Art Deco style high-rise residential facade, and the design techniques which is treated as the study of the starting point. First, I described the generation, development and the original ideas of Art Deco, then the process of Art Deco style in our country, and the development in our country in the first period, next I analysis the profile of the Art Deco style high-rise residential development in China. On this basis, I summarize the essential features of the Art Deco style facade, and separate the facade by different types. I find that the design should stand on the environment, plan layout, and the skirt-buildings, then make the proportion, layout the vertical lines, roof and bottom molding. Secondly, I study the design techniques of the main components, decoration, material and colors in Art Deco style facade. There is a project of the Art Deco style high-rise residential facade design I participated which is used as a real practice.At last, I give some personal views for the Art Deco-style facade design. I hope that these views can be used for references for the Art Deco style design of high-rise residence in the future.
