Seawater slurry ice is a two-phase solution of seawater and the tiny ice crystals, it hasthe advantages of high heat exchange efficiency and fast cooling speed, and it can ensurethe integrity of the aquatic products during the preservation process. Due to the lack ofcondensation nuclei, the seawater may appear the super-cooling phenomenon during thecooling process, which needs the refrigeration system running in low evaporationtemperature. The power on the fishing vessel is finite, so it is necessary to explore asuitable method which can speed the seawater nucleation and reduce the degree ofsuper-cooling.The seawater slurry ice experiment device is been built, and the seawater slurry icesystem heat transfer process and influence factors of seawater slurry ice packing factor isbeen analyzed. The nucleating agent for pure water and seawater undercooling and freezingprocess energy saving effect are studied through the experiment, in the pure water slurry icepreparation process, when nucleating agent is the chitosan powder, the concentration of thesuspension is0.9%, the super-cooling degree disappeared; when nucleating agent is thebubble, standing time of5min chitosan-acetic acid preservative liquid subcoolingsignificantly less than the static duration for the30min case. In the seawater slurry icepreparation process, in the condition of nucleating agent particle size range of38.5~74um,mass fraction of0.1%, the super-cooling degree disappeared. Finally the nucleationmechanism of the ice in the preparation process and the influence on energy saving arebeen discussed.
