Calculation of quantities as theprimary work of the project cost control, has many characteristics, such as workload big,cumbersome and complex, accounts for about50%~70%of whole engineering budgetworkload, its accuracy and computing speed will directly affect the quality of the entirebudget work and schedule, thus correct fast calculation of quantities is of greatsignificance.At present, the construction project cost using software calculation of quantities inthe field of phenomenon more and more common, compared to the traditional manualcalculate quantity, software to calculate the amount in both the computation time and onthe calculation accuracy has a big advantage. But the amount of software is not perfect,based on the analysis of the software at the same time, emphatically analyzed theweakness of the software to calculate the amount of and problems, and puts forwardrelevant Suggestions on existing problems, calculate amount of software of intelligentdevelopment prospect for the future.This paper systematically analyzes the engineering cost calculation and relevanttheoretical knowledge, the development of the detailed calculation method to make abrief introduction, mainly introduced the background of the software to calculate theamount, type of thinking, and application status. Then use Guang Lian da of graphicssoftware to calculate the amount of actual engineering, and through the way ofcombination of text and graphics, validate the software to calculate the amount ofoperation flow and the output results. Finally through comparing the manual andsoftware to calculate the amount, quantity calculation of the effective methods, fullyverified in the current situation, the calculation methods of the optimization ofquantities.
