CAPP as a process designing system platform has been gradually changing to threedimensional CAPP.The application of three dimensional CAPP system for process designmethods,decision-making and process resource data management have a significant impact.we need to develop a set of three dimensional process design tools based on machining featu-re,to realize the enterprise information demand.The main contents of this paper include:Through the demand for three-dimensional analysis of CAPP system, expounds thenecessity of establishing a three dimensional process design tool system; establishes a threedimensional process design tool system architecture,divides the system function module,desc-ribes the key technology of the system; proposes the parts manufacturing informationdescription method based on machining feature and analyze the parts model data structure toclarify the relationship between the data expression and data organization and managementmethods of these models.Through the machining feature of the definition and classification, and analysis of thedata machining feature, proposes a feature search and matching method based on methodAAG,establishes feature matching rules and the feature pickup process, implements dataextraction based on machining feature and the final steps to build a three dimensionalprocedure model based on the machining feature.Through the analysis of process resource data, determines the equipment resourceacquisition and representation methods to establish of a device resource model and realize theexpression information of3D process model based on machining feature. Research onvisualization technology, Using3DVIA Composer to process release, developing a visualbrowser to achieve information visualization view.Using CAA and RADE with VS2005integration tools for CATIA secondarydevelopment,designs a prototype system, and gives the realization of the interface of variousfunctional modules to achieve machining feature information extraction and integration ofinformation technology resources. At last,through the analysis of3D process design tool for system analysis, puts forwardthe improvement direction of the system.
