ABSTRACT:Wheel and axle is one of the key components to insure the operation safety of high speed train. With the speed of the high speed train improved, the fatigue of wheel and axle is proposed more Strict requirements. Load spectrum of wheel-axle and its distribution is important foundation of fatigue evaluation and reliability design of wheels. Therefore, based on the instrumented wheelset of the higher-speed experimental train, combining with simulation, load spectrum of wheel and axle was studied in this paper. Consequently, the following aspects were studied:Firstly, The instrumented wheelset was made and the coefficients of vertical load and lateral load and the interaction coefficients of them were analyzed and calculated by static testing calibration. Besides, the amended load expressions were derived because of the coupling effects of vertical and lateral loads on the output of the instrumented wheelset. Also the correct of the expressions were verified through the measured data.Secondly, the finite element model of the instrumented wheelset was created and the load coefficients were given by simulation. The feasibility of getting load coefficients was proved by contrast the load coefficients got from testing and simulation. Based on UIC510-5, the force and its position of six conditions were given. The static and fatigue strength of manufactured wheel was satisfied the requirements of safety operation through simulation.Thirdly, using the method of harmonic analysis, the Spectrogram of measured data was analyzed. The measured data was processed and the load and stress spectrums of different typical conditions were made. Besides, the characteristic of load and stress spectrums were analyzed, in different speed, different axial and different conditions.Fourthly, based on measured stress-time history of axle, the influence to damage of different axial was analyzed. Using the theory of miner linear cumulative damage theory, the fatigue strength of axle was evaluated, and the result was that the axle satisfied the requirements of twelve millions safety operation.Fifthly, the load and moment spectrums were given and the distribution of the spectrums was analyzed, by using the BFGS Quasi-Newton method. The result shows that lateral load obey the truncated normal distribution and the vertical load and the moment obey normal distribution.
