With the rapid development of automobile industry, the demand of automotive shockabsorber is increasing significantly. As an important part of double tube hydraulic shockabsorber, the demand for shock absorber base valve is also increasing. At present stage themain way of shock absorber base valve assembly is manual assembly. Manual assembly is notonly inefficient, but also unreliable. It leads to a low competitiveness of products. Indeveloped country, shock absorber base valve assembly is carried out with high automation,but relatively low productivity and higher cost. In this paper, the design of a kind of automaticshock absorber base valve assembly machine is presented, which can be combined with valveplates grouping machine, to realize automatic assembly for25series and30series basevalve.The research of this paper mainly includes the following aspects:(1) According to function requirement of automatic assembly machine of shock absorberbase valve, the proposed scheme of each device is analyzed individually. The workingprinciple diagram of every mechanism is given. The plans and the whole action process ofeach device is determined finally.(2) On the basis of overall scheme of the requirement, its main devices are designedspecifically. Relative position of each device is identified. With regard to structure diagrams,the specific working principle is illustrated in detail. The experimental verification is carriedout to prove the feasibility of pushing institution and parts locating sleeve.(3) Pushing mechanism is used to realize the blank of valve body and assembly, and itsstructure is simpler. A kind of special designed parts locating sleeve is used to realize partstracking. Screw down is combined with push-up device in extracting location。This structurecan realize the new assembly process easily and quickly. The experimental verification iscarried out to prove the feasibility of pushing institution and parts locating sleeve.(4) Based on the design of mechanical structure, the electrical control system of theequipment is analyzed, and the pneumatic transmission system is confirmed. PLC is used torealize the automatic control of the equipment operation flow diagram. The simulation test iscompleted to identify the program correctness and feasibility.The shock absorber base valve automatic assembly machine researched in this paper canbe referenced by following research of base valve automatic assembly machine with higherefficiency and more comprehensive.
