PC composite beam with corrugated steel webs can be regarded as a kind of high performance structure, which takes advantage of the bending behavior of the concrete plate, the tensile properties of the prestressed reinforcement and the shearing behavior of corrugated steel webs. AS external prestressing is widely adopted in PC composite beam with corrugated steel webs, the bending behavior, especially the ultimate stress in the external prestress tendon is studied on the the nonlinear finite element platform OpenSees. Besides, the length of plastic hinge in PC composite beam with corrugated steel webs is also investigated in depth.First, a finite element model is established with fiber section and force based element on the nonlinear finite element platform OpenSees to simulate the bending behavior of PC composite beam with corrugated steel webs. The nonlinear constitutive law of material, equivalent processing methods for corrugated steel webs and prestress applying are investigated in details. Comparing the computational results with the measured values of typical tests, the feasibility and accuracy of the established finite element model is validated. The comparison includes load-deflection relationship, ultimate stress of external tendons and material strain.Secondly, the ultimate stress of externally prestressing tendon in typical test beams is studied with Pannell model, with which ultimate stress of externally prestressing tendon and bending behavior of PC beams can be compuated with good accuracy.Finally, plastic hinge length of PC composite beam with corrugated steel webs is investigated based on RC and PC plastic hinge theory. Parameter analysis on the plastic hinge length is carried out, these parameters include the area and yield strength of tensile reinforcement, the concrete compressive strength, the effective prestress and the length of shear span and a plastic hinge length formula for PC beam with corrugated steel web is recommended.
