Research Of Cleaning Technology Of Key Parts Of Aerospace Engine During Major Repair

With the rapid development of the aerospace industry, aeroengine need to perform betterthan ever before, which will result in higher turbine inlet temperature. This requires engine partsto have the ability to resist higher thermal shock, higher temperature corrosion, thermalalternating and complex stress. Surface coating is able to protect the components in many wayswith a simple technology process and could be easily repaired. It improves the reliability of theengine components greatly, also prolongs the service life of the engine, thus has been widelyused in aircraft engine.The engine case is the basic and one of the most important part of the entire engine. Andin the process of engine overhaul, the coating of the engine case is needed to be removed. Inthe process of removing, a way is needed which can remove the coating effectively withoutdamaging the engine case. To accomplish that we can use abrasive water jet.In this thesis, the following aspects were discussed and studied:The angle of the nozzle should be around15°. The length of the nozzle, around95mm.And under enough water pressure, the larger the diameter, the better. The speed of removingcoating is reciprocal to the range and the feeding speed, and proportional to the pressure. Thejet angle should be around75°. The feeding speed of abrasive material should be around450g/min. The granularity of the abrasive material should be80#.The experiment shows that pressure, feeding speed and the range are most related to thequality of the coating removal. In terms of velocity, the higher the pressure, the better. In termsof efficiency, the pressure should be between40-50MPa.
