Internal parallel move indexing cam mechanism is a new type cam intermittent mechanism, which has several advantages, such as simple and compact structure, small volume, strong load-capacity and big index number. It will be widely used in the future.Based on the initial design scheme, ANSYS WORKBENCH software of finite element analysis was applied in dynamic and static performances research of internal parallel move indexing cam mechanism, specific content as follows:Firstly, based on the transmission principle of the internal parallel move indexing cam mechanism, the finite element analytical model of the main transmission vice (cam-needle vice) of the mechanism under the condition of different input angle was built, and finite element contact analysis was carried out. And improved scheme of cam edge structure was proposed based on the analysis result.Secondly, modal analysis of the overall internal structure as well as the important part of the internal parallel move indexing cam mechanism was carried out, modal parameters such as natural frequency and modal shape and critical speed of the mechanism under different input angle during whole cycle of the mechanism was obtained. And the difference of the overall stiffness difference and dynamic characteristics between indexing period and intermittent period was pointed out.Again, harmonic response analysis of the mechanism was carried out combined with modal analysis result and the amplitude frequency response curve of the cam and needle wheel was obtained, which reveal their variation tendency along with the change of different frequencies. Found that the maximum peak of the amplitude appeared near the first order frequency during the whole cycle, the amplitude was obvious and the variation tendency of the stress value along with the change of frequency in the position of maximize amplitude was acquired.Finally, experimental modal analysis of the experimental prototype of the mechanism was carried out and the experimental modal frequency of the mechanism during the indexing period and intermittent period was acquired, which approximately the same with the result of the finite element software analysis, verified the reliability of the finite element analysis results.
