Longkou Zhongji Electrical Machinery Co., Ltd has grown into the biggest manufacturer of semi-automatic and full automatic motor coil assembly equipment in China. The indexing mechanism is used by Zhongji Company's special motor processing equipment in motor processes and coiling procedure, etc. At present, Zhongji Company use the servo motor to drive gears for indexing. However, the indexing mechanism can produce much indexing errors during the indexing process, which will make a tremendous impact on the production efficiency and the quality of products. Therefore, the studying team cooperates with Zhongji Company in order to carry out the analysis and research of a new type of indexing mechanism.This paper carries out detailed analysis and research on roller gear indexing cam mechanism based on the summarization of the indexing mechanisms'at home and abroad.The paper uses the method of UG expression to create working profile curve and the line construct to surface of roller gear indexing cam, and finally three-dimensional modeling of indexing cam is constructed. Friction theory advised is introduced into roller gear indexing cam mechanism. Selecting multi-rigid-body dynamics theory combining with ADAMS software, we conduct dynamic simulation on roller gear indexing cam mechanism when considering the effect of friction and then analyze the detailed effects of friction and the clearance generated by it on contact transmission of roller gear indexing cam mechanism and each axial element when indexing plate rotates. Hence, we get the valuable conclusion for the design and actual production of roller gear indexing cam mechanism.Combined with flexible body dynamic theory, the paper carries out a modal analysis, transient dynamic analysis method and finite element strength analysis for assembly of roller gear indexing cam mechanism key components advised by use of finite element analysis software ANSYS Workbench. We obtain 9-order natural frequencies of mechanism assembly and the time load response to it. The paper plays theoretical guidance significance for the design of roller gear indexing cam mechanism.The practical research work of this paper will be bound to produce positive guidance function for the further development of roller gear indexing cam mechanism in domestic.
