Worldwide energy crisis led to a shortage of oil resources, and most power fuels ofthe cars are still petrol and diesel, therefore increasing of car ownership exacerbatedenergy needs. Coaches are important traffic tools running among the cities, andimproving the transport efficiency and saving fuel are key tasks.To save fuel and relieve energy pressure, we should improve the coach fuel economy.Coach performance, especially the power performance and fuel economy, directlydepends on the rational matching degree of the powertrain. So the analysis ofperformance and the coach powertrain matching optimization have important practicalsignificance to improve performance.Taken a coach as an example, this paper set up the carol simulation model based onthe vehicle performance analysis software AVL Cruise. By comparing and analyzingthe results of the simulation and design target parameters provided by the enterprise, wecorrect repeatedly to ensure the accuracy of the established coach model. By integratingthe optimization software Isight and Cruise software, we establish the optimizationmodel. The model set transmission ratios and final drive ratio as the design variables,take the NEDC cycle hundreds of kilometers fuel consumption as design goal, and thenwe choose Many Island Genetic Algorithm to solve the optimization model. The coachpower performance and fuel economy are improved significantly after optimization.Considering the actual situation of product design, we combine two kinds oftransmissions and five kinds of final drives for powertrain matching. Using powermatching calculation function and DOE design method, we get a variety of coachpowertrain matching combination schemes. Then we choose eligible matching schemesby setting constraints, check the results of the schemes, finally achieve the optimalmatching scheme which gets best performance.
