Compressor has became the core component of air-condition, scroll compressor, asa new type compressor, is efficient, high-reliability, quiet and low-cost. Because scrollcompressor has a very complex system process, a method to compute stressdistributing is required. And new molded lines need to be developed. Furthermorestress distributing of the scroll compressor based on new molded lines needs to becomputed. The paper takes scroll compressor used in automotive air-condition as researchtarget, the following aspects have been made:(1)the paper expound the theory ofinvolutes of invariable radii and involutes of variable radii, goes through the moldedline equations, compares the difference of involutes of fixed radii with involutes ofvariable radii in working performance, and demonstrates the structural advantage ofinvolutes of variable radii;(2)this paper simulates and studies the stress and strain oforbiting scroll under three temperature operation conditions(no temperature field, linear temperature field and divisional temperature field) by using ANSYS, theresults show that temperature field has an fatal impact on the stress and strain oforbiting scroll, different forms of temperature fields have major impact on themaximal stress, but less impact on the location of dangerous point; once more, underthe coupling field of linear temperature field and gas forces, the orbiting scroll withinvolutes of fixed radii has been calculated, the comparison between the location ofdangerous point by calculated and the location of dangerous point by durability testof orbiting scroll shows that the coupling field of linear temperature field and gasforces is able to simulate the location of dangerous point; last, the stress and strain ofscroll with involutes of variable radii is calculated using ANSYS under the couplingfield of linear temperature field and gas forces, the comparison between the calculatedresults of orbiting scroll with involutes of fixed radii and orbiting scroll with involutesof variable radii shows that scroll with involutes of variable radii could support highertemperature and pressure and can also be applied under more complex conditions.
