Automated Storage and Retrieval System are playing a more and more important role in logistics today. The most important indicator to measure the automated warehouse is the index of frequency of warehouse and space utilization rate. Because of the structure characteristics of traditional warehouse, there are certain limitations on the frequency of warehouse and space utilization rate. Therefore, researching and designing a storage and distribution system which has high storage density, let the goods automatically forward and delivery of cargo from storage continuously and briskly is very important. The advantages and disadvantages of several kinds of typical automated warehouse shelf and their applicable conditions are analyzed.The main function of high density agile delivery system:high density storage, automatic forward cargo and agile continuous distribution. And design the detailed function of the system’s components. Designed the high density forward type and agile storage distribution system. Designed two methods of system scheme, the two methods are compared and analyzed. The high density agile delivery system based on power drive-through rack, gantry lifting shuttle and self-propelled rail car. Gantry lifting shuttles are located in the both sides of power drive-through rack, inbound and outbound equipment are located in the both sides of gantry lifting shuttle. Inbound and outbound devices have roller conveyor, transfer conveyor and chain conveyor. Designed details of the whole process of inventory, storage and outbound of high density agile delivery system.Designed detailed structure of power drive-through rack, gantry lifting shuttle and self-propelled rail car, which are high density agile delivery system’s core components. Analyze the control process of high density agile delivery system, choose CAN bus as the structure of the system. Analyzed the control problem and the requirement of control system. Determine the positioning control method of gantry lifting shuttle and self-propelled rail car and the positioning method of pallet, and the process of speed control of gantry lifting shuttle and self-propelled rail car.Analyzed storage location assignment of high density agile delivery system, determined the principle of storage location assignment, established the mathematical model for the storage location assignment. In order to further improve the outbound efficiency of the system and save the total time, proposed an improved method for storage location assignment of high density agile delivery system, set stocking cargo passage.
