The Application Study Of TQM In Construction Of Light Rail Control Center

As the construction projects get more and more complex, customers’ demands to quality are more and more strict. The traditional model of quality management is difficultly to continue which only focus on errors due to well-defined physical flaws. Few realize quality is determined by changing factors, quality is essentially dynamic.Nature of quality demands us treat the construction process as a whole to study, and not just focus on established quality defect. It shows a dynamic quality management in this paper-Total Quality Management (TQM), which has been proven to be a successful philosophy in manufacturing and service industries.Based on the domestic and foreign various construction project quality management theory, a Total Quality Management (TQM) construction project adapted is got. the TQM was used in the construction of DaLian Light Rail Control Center for its quality and security control. By using of Total Quality Management, a quality assurance organization was established, quality and security preventive measures and Countermeasures in detail were formulated. The five factors (people, machine, material, method and environment) were studied for analysis, control and improve for quality. And good results were got. The study shows that TQM can be successfully applied in construction industry. Benefits can be reducing the quality cost, better employee satisfaction(because they do not need to be complained by owners), the closer relationship with sub contractor. At last, a framework the implementation of TQM in the construction industry was proposed.
