Vehicle handling stability belongs to the category of the vehicle active safety control, is one of the important technical index for dynamic performance evaluation. As one of the key technologies for automotive companies, virtual prototype technology can effectively shorten development cycles, reduce development costs and improve product design and manufacturing technology.Firstly, based on a dual-front axle tractor in this paper, according to the structure parameters and technical parameters of the car, a dynamic model including steering system, front suspension, rear suspension, leafsprings, tires and other subsystems was established with ADAMS/Car.Secondly, a simulation analysis platform for ual-axle tractor handling stability was finished with Visual C#and ADAMS. Its functions are as follows:automated vehicle modeling; quickly analyzing the handling stability performance of full-vehicle; automaticly postprocessing and saving related results; optimization of vehicle handling and stability by matching wheel alignment parameter.Thirdly, a model of dual-axle tractor was developed with the system and according to the Chinese National Standard, simulation tests which contained step steering simulation, impulse steering simulation, steer releasing simulation, steady cornering simulation, pylon course simulation and steering portability simulation were accomplished. After comparing the simulation results with real vehicle test results, it shows that the model can effectively reflect the real tractor, the system runned well and can quickly provide a reference for optimization and design.Finally, two sets of wheel alignment parameters, toe and camber and kingpin inclination and caster respectively, were matched using the system. The handling and stability performance of the modle had been improved after optimization which showed that the optimization module of the simulation analysis platform was reasonable and effective.
