Plug-in hybrid electric vehicle can charge the battery through household power or a dedicated power and the stored battery energy can meet the consumer requirement of getting longer electric driving range. Its biggest feature is to combine two kinds of driving system together, which is hybrid mode and electric mode,make the emission and fuel economy of PHEV has been greatly improved.Under the national innovation project undertaken by my school and one company, the paper take the plug-in hybird as study object, focus on the part selection and parameter matching include of engine, drive motor, battery and CVT. Using Matlab/simulink established various simulation of the power system, control strategy and vehicle model, then under the Matlab/GUI environment, develop the graphical user interface of the whole simulation model which is easy to input the simulation parameters and oberserve the simulation results. The simulation result prove that control strategy and the vehicle simulation model is reliable and effective.In order to achieve optimal utilization of vehicle energy,using genetic algorithms to optimize powertrain and control strategy parameter of Plug-in hybrid vehicle. The optimization results show that fuel consumption per kilometer is reduced by12.5%, the pure electric driving range increased by1.8%, while the CO, HC, NOxemissions were reduced respectively by6.15%,8.11%and9.16%, under the NEDC driving cycle. The dynamic performance of the vehicle has decreased, but the economy performance and emissions performance has improved and meets the design requirements.
