Plug-in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV) can be seen as an intermediate technologybetween battery electric vehicle (BEV) and traditional internal combustion enginevehicle (ICEV).PHEV contains the advantages of BEV`s zero emission and ICEV`slong driving range, so it increasingly favored by the general public before the BEVbattery technology problem to be solved, and the auto conglomerates are also activelydeveloping and releasing PHEV car types at present. This paper was based on acooperate project named plug-in hybrid electric vehicle industrialization developmentproject between a company and our team, research the parameters matching of powertrain and control strategy.According to the design requirement, combining with basic knowledge of the theoryof automobile, choose the type of engine, motor and battery for the plug-in hybridvehicle, and design their parameters. Then establish the simulation model of the vehiclepower train with CRUISE. Analysis the operating mode of the car and the controlstrategy model of logic threshold value based on the rules on the modeling platform ofMATLAB/Simulink is built. Then put the control strategy model into CRUISE tosimulate. The simulation results show that both the dynamic and economy performancescan meet the design objective. Finally use the optimization software Isight to optimize vehicle performance. Set thefuel consumption per100km and acceleration time from0to100km/h as optimizationobjective, the dynamic and economy performance as constraint function to optimize thefront and rear final drive`s transmission ratio. The optimization results show that boththe dynamic and economy performances were improved. The optimization design isreasonable and feasible and the result is effective.
