Research On The Development Barriers And Promoting Measures Of Green Building In Xi’an

Reducing greenhouse gas emissions is the key to deal with the global warming crisis. Taking effective measures to promote energy conservation and emission reduction are the common responsibility for every countries. As major energy consumer, buildings which are one of primary sources of greenhouse gas are vital to climate change. In this context, green buildings aiming to sustainable development are the direction of architecture, as well as the focuses of theory research and practice in every countries. Within a period of rapid development in urbanization, the speed of urban construction in China is increasingly speeding up and this high-speed is likely to last for some time. There has been a giant pressure to environment and natural resources in high-speed construction, so it is particularly important to encouraging green buildings. However, China’s green buildings have also had various problems such as short history, low level and so on. As a result, it has been hanging over public’s head to studying the obstruction promote green buildings and corresponding solving measures.Based on the analysis to existing theories and practices on green buildings at home and abroad, the paper focuses three issues——planning and design, material selection and construction, as well as usage and maintenance. Then, the paper analyzes several barriers of green buildings development, taking Xi’an as an example, such as the lack of awareness and related knowledge to green buildings, inadequate incentive policies and regulations, absent from technical standard system and supervision system. Aiming at above-mentioned disorders, a series of countermeasures have been put forward in the paper, including strengthening the propaganda work to improve awareness and related knowledge to green buildings, improving the incentive policies and regulations to increase policy support to green buildings, establishing technical standard system to lay the foundation for the basis of green buildings, as well as perfecting supervision to ensure the quality of the development, in order to promote the rapid development of green buildings in Xi’an and give some guide to other cities.
