With the rapid development of the owning amount of household vehicle, people pay more and more attention to the problems of the community garage safety. Yet, because of the complex of the community garage and lacking of effective administrative measure, there is a big hiddendanger for the community garage safety. At present, community garage mainly use install video monitoring and arrange some people manage, but this way of monitoring is not perfect, the management is difficult to cover everything and easy to neglect. So there is a very important realistic significance to improve the security of community garage.Combining embedded Linux technology and video monitoring technology, this paper designed a community garage video monitoring system based on S3C2440. Different from traditional monitoring system which installed in the garage, the system can be installed on the household vehicles and connected to the network community by wifi. When the owner parked and picked the car, he could notify his family to monitor the car’s surrounding environment. The system capture images of the moving target and stored in the SD card if a moving object poured into the range of the monitoring when the vehicles parked in the garage. The system is a complement for the traditional monitoring, and it can enhance the safety of the community garage.Paper’s study work includes two parts, hardware design and software design:Part of hardware:This part designed an embedded system which based on S3C2440microprocessor, and designed interface module circuit which included CMOS camera module, USB wireless network module, SD card module.Part of software:Using Linux system development and combined with the hardware which included the chip in the embedded system (Flash, SDRAM, etc), the paper completed u-boot transplantation and development, the kernel transplantation, the minimum yaffs2root file system. According to the camera chip, network interface card chip, SD card interface, the system realized the transplantation and design of driver, mjpg-streamer and boa were transplanted into the system, the system realized the video data collection according to the V4L2API function provided by Linux, and compressed the data through MJPEG compression algorithm, and then the video data which based on TCP/IP protocol sent over in the network, realized the monitoring on the web page. Motion was transplanted into the system, then the frame difference method which can realize the motion detection of image was used in the system and the images will be stored in the SD card.Finally, after several actual experiments, the test consequence shows that:the video is fluent and clear, motion detection is stable and reliable, and it can achieve expected function and has a great practical value.
