As an important part of the car, the car door plays an extremely significant role in theproduction process. It is not only an important channel of the passengers’ contact with theoutside, but also an important guarantee of the passengers’ safety and comfort. In the processof the design and development of car door, we must take the manufacturing cost, themanufacturing cycle and the quality of car door into account. Meanwhile, the stiffness of thecar door can affect the comfort and safety of the car. Therefore, in the case of the car door’sstiffness and indicators, how to realize the design requirements of the door structure seems tobe very important.Based on the problems mentioned above, the main research content is divided into threeparts. First, we summary the main content and main research methods of the passenger cardoor structure performance and introduce the current situation of stiffness analysis of thepassenger car door at home and abroad. At the same time, we contrast the research methods ofstiffness analysis of car door. On the basis of the car door’s ergonomics and structure designprocess, we design a three-dimensional model of a passenger car door.Second, we establish the finite element analysis model of the passenger car door.According to the using condition of the passenger car door, we calculate and analysis the finiteelement model, and calculate the stiffness value of passenger car door.At last, based on the finite element analysis, through the optimization of the door hingereinforcement and the inner plate, we realize the reduction of the door weight and themaximum stress of the door without the weight increasing of the passenger car door designed.Therefore, in this research, the door’s stiffness optimization methods proposed is feasible, andit can shorten the development cycle of the car door and reduce the experimental door samples,which has a certain practical significance.
