Car Body Engineering is the youngest but fast-growing branch organization in the modern automotive industry chain.Car door is an important part of its body system,and its performance directly affects the car's safety,comfort and durability.The performance indices of car door can be mainly reflected in: impact safety of car door(including bending and torsional stiffness,etc.),the modal performance of car door,seal performance of the car door and ease of opening and closing.Stiffness characteristic is critical for automotive-safety,and modal analysis is very helpful for the upgrade of car door and NVH performance.By means of CAE software analysis,this paper builds finite element model of the door,and conducts the simulation analysis for the car door of its stiffness characteristics and modal characteristics,considering the test to verify the reliability and accuracy of the finite element model,and providing a reference for subsequent optimization and design.T he paper takes the passenger door of the tested car as an example,and the main contents and results are as follows:(1)Conducting finite element mesh on the bus passenger door CATIA 3D modulus and determining the constraints and loadings of the running condition analysis,so that the divided door finite element model can meet the enterprise standards.(2)Describing system components of the stiffness testing and modal testing,analyzing the errors and problems,proposing the corresponding solutions,and introducing the calculation method of the car door stiffness and modal data processing method.(3)Analyzing the bending stiffness and torsional stiffness CAE of finite element model of the car door,getting the displacement contour at the specific constraint conditions and the maximum displacement of the door four corners;describing the preparation,test and data-acquisition process of the door stiffness,getting test data to compare with the simulation results to verify the accuracy and reliability of the door finite element modeling to analyze the reasons for the existence of differences between the two results.(4)Based on the modal analysis,the paper analyzes modal characteristic of the passenger door,and gets 6-stage modal frequencies and mode diagram under the free mode of the door to analyze door performance.The paper also introduces the door modal test preparation,test and data-acquisition process to acquire modal frequencies and describe mode shapes under the different doors.And comparing the simulation results with test results to confirm the reliability and accuracy of the finite element model,and analyze the reasons for the existence of discrepancies between the two.Through the research and the reference on the existing literature,the paper works out a series of methods and guidelines to establish the finite element model of the door quickly and accurately,including rapid prototyping methods and simplify principles of the door structures.Through the analysis and comparison of test results,these methods and guidelines will help improve the accuracy and reliability of finite element modeling,to improve the technical basis for the fur ther design and optimization of the car door.
