First of all, the classical interior ballistic theory is applied in the paper to have ananalysis on the interior ballistic of Gatling gun. Based on the parameters of interior ballisticobtained the barrel force curve. The paper established two-dimensional differential equationabout the movements of the Gatling gun recoiling. Then using software build the virtualprototype model for its solution. The theoretical analysis of the movement characteristic ofGatling gun recoil is well-matched with its following racking test.The bearing capacity of the helicopter camber beam, which serves as the direct bearingcarrier in aviation gun shooting, is measured. And using FEM software to analyzed the staticload of camber beam and obtained strain contours make reference for the static calibration testof the Gatling gun recoil.According to the stress and deformation point of the static analysis obtained and usingstrain electrical measuring technology to carry out static calibration tests of the bearingcapacity of Gatling gun recoil. Through experimental data processing with unary linearregression, the relationship equation between the strain and the recoil is acquired. Theshooting tests with low, intermediate and high frequency respectively are implemented on thehelicopter camber beam with the outcome of the dynamic data acquisition via strain electricalmeasuring technology, compared with the static test results. The test results verify the Gatlinggun to meet the technical requirements.Finally, the rigid-flexible coupling model of Gatling gun is established for the analyticalcalculation on the muzzle disturbance and vertical target dispersion of Gatling gun. Theresults indicate that the Gatling gun possesses a stable shooting and has less impact of itsmuzzle jitter on the vertical target dispersion.The relative research methods and the final results of the paper has adopted has acquiredlay a good foundation and offer valuable references for the further design and perfection ofaviation Gatling gun.
