The rapid development of manufacturing technologys brings about not only challenges but also opportunities to the discrete manufacturing enterprises. The production of discrete manufacturing industry is characterized by multi-species and small amount. The increase of product structure complexity and variety will bring chaos to production organization and management, thus affecting the product delivery schedule, the traditional management methods and models will severely restrict the development of enterprises.With the diversification and individualization of market demand, the implement of information management is the only way out for the discrete manufacturing enterprises. Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) makes information interact between enterprise management layer (ERP) and the underlying control layer (PCS), it plays the role of interaction.The matured MES systems generally have complicated functional structures, and they are mainly for large enterprises. The complete implementation of MES needs large investment, which may be at risk. Enterprise Resourse Planning systems generally have not been completely implemented in small and medium-sized enterprises, so the implementation of MES functionality suitable for enterprise can effectively improve the enterprise infrastructure management and meet urgent needs of lean production.Based on the above analysis, the main work of this subject has been completed as follows:First, this thesis analyzes the development and application status of MES at home and abroad, and related technologies of discrete manufacturing MES application such as manufacturing process data collection, such as bar code identification are studied.Second, by analyzing the current situation of enterprise production plan execution, determined to the manufacturing process of on-site real-time data acquisition and analysis as the core requirements, and based on this the business process is optimized. In view of improved the working process of workshop, analyzed the UML use case modeling, and determine the system’s overall function structure accordingly. On the basis of general function structure, analyzed the system data flow diagrams, completed the system design in detail. Through to the manufacturing process of data collection and analysis, implement the working in process management, process quality status monitoring and tracking of the production plan.Finally, according to the research result above, based on the practical enterprise’s requirements, choosing suitable framework structure and logical structure for system development, selecting Visual Studio2010C#as system development tools and Oracle11g as database management system, a set of production management system of discrete manufacturing workshop is designed and developed, the system has been put into use in the enterprise, and it runs well. Application of the system forwardly push the usage of Lean Production mode in workshop, and verify the effectiveness of research scheme.
