The development of high-speed EMU technology in China is based on the idea ofintroduce, digest and innovate. The ultimate purpose of introducing the foreign advancedtechnology of designing and manufacturing EMU is to innovatie the high-speed EMUwhich has the independent intellectual property rights after digesting and absorping theadvanced technologies. The primary task of innovation is to make the load characteristicsunder the using conditions clear based on learning the foreign advanced technology. This isnot only important for innovation but also important for engineering applictions.Finite element model for the powered bogie welded frame of CRH3-350type motorunit is established by Hypermesh and ANSYS. According to China standard, the appliedloads are estimated by the codes, in which super-normal loads, service loads and additionalloads are included. Simulated test loading cases were constructed by grouping the loadsincluding those for static strength. And then finite analysis is made in sequent correspodingto the load cases. It is verified that the bogie welded frame meets the requirements of codefor static strength.At the same time, the mode analysis of CRH3-350bogie frmae is made and the resultsare analysed.The conelusions draw in this thesis can provide reefrence for design andcaleulation of bogie frame.
