Evaluation Of Golf Course Plant Landscape In Northern Hainan Area

Thanks to the construction of Hainan International Tourism Island, as well as the unique climatic conditions and the natural environment.The golf industry in Hainan has been in rapid development. Not only is Haikou city the capital of Hainan Province and tourism powerhouse, it is also the birthplace of golf tourism in the province. Furthermore, in the golf industry of Hainan, the city of Haikou developed the earliest and counts the largest number of golf courts. More importantly, Haikou region has unique volcanic landscape vegetation appropriate for the golfing landscape. Therefore, the study of Haikou’s golf landscape and its surrounding areas are of great significance for the construction as well as development of the entire region of Hainan and tropical environment.In this study, the construction of the Hainan International Tourism Island as well as the potential of Hainan’s golf industry are taken as background. Starting from the academic and theoretical research and the construction of golf courses, a comprehensive theory of related disciplines in accordance to the chronological selection of four representative golf courses (Three kilometer International Golf, Moon Bay Golf, Dongshan Golf and Nanli Lake Golf) were studied. Firstly, through field surveys andreview of previous literature, a qualitative analysis was made on the process of golf course construction, landscaping practices, plant types, ornamental characteristics, artificial vegetation, as well as other related factors. Secondly, through the combination of Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP), expert consultation and fuzzy mathematics, we obtained an integrated approach to a comprehensive evaluation of its intrinsic quality. Finally, through exhaustive analysis, we have come to the following conclusions:(1) In the landscaping techniques requiring more spaces, every golf course adopts primarily the spatial separation techniques. Three kilometer International Golf principally uses rocks and changes in terrain to add spaces to its golf courses whereas.Moon Bay Golf mainly utilizes plant combinations to create its golfing environment. On the other hand, Dongshan Golf usesplants and vegetation to separate its terrain displaying an overall simple atmosphere. Nanli Lake Golf uses its own advantages of water to design a sense of separation and uses less of a mix and match of plant.(2) In the use of plant landscape mode, linear planting is the most common type in each golf course plant configuration. The landscape effect of group planting is the most abundant while the least rare type is isolated planting. Among the four courses, the Moon Bay Golfpays most attention to the match between plants and the overall sense; the Three kilometer International Golf puts more emphasis on the combination of plant, but because of the growing of the plant materials and the management conditions, the overall effect was imperfect;the Dongshan Golf has single tree species, which makes the plant landscape dull;the NanliLake has coconut trees as the fundamental tree species, lacking a mix and match with other plants.(3) In terms of the collocation form of landscape elements, Three kilometer International Golfhas the most abundant operational model, mainly focusing on the match between rocks and plant elements, which are widely used in the corner, edge, obstacles, etc.While Moon Bay Golfis mainly in the collocation of plant materials and sketch, Dongshan Golf in the combination of plants and the lawn, and NanliLake Golfsceneryin theplants materials with the lake.(4) Througha statistical compilationHainaiQiongNorth region’s four golf courses (Three kilometer International Golf, Moon Bay Golf, Dongshan Golf and Nanli Lake Golf) host a total of283species of plants. Among all the types, herbaceous perennials (118species) account for42%,arbors (84kinds) account for30%, shrubs (50kinds) account for17%, and Fujimoto (31kinds) accounts for11%, which is considered an absolute advantage due to its four kinds of life form. Among the ornamental plant types:flowers (92kinds) account for33%, foliage (66kinds) accounts for23%, fruit plants (24kinds) account for8%,the concept of plant shape class (61kinds) account for22%, the concept of rhizome(40kinds) account for14%, which is the highly valued ornamental plant from a golf course perspective.(5) Among the four artificial plant community, the use of native tree species is less. Plant configuration selection in tree layer mainly uses city greening tree species, such as coconut, casuarina, acacia, rubber tree in Taiwan, and the type is unitary. There is a lack of overall configuration changes and connotation, as well as a lack of regional characteristics and cultural characteristics.(6) From the composite score, the quality grade of the northern area of Hainan golf course landscape plants are excellent, in sequence of Three kilometer International Golf (93.9242), Nanli Lake Golf (91.6090), Moon Bay Golf (90.7095), andDongshan Golf(89.8380). The sort order is basically in accordance with the order of the opening time, which means that with the passage of time, the golf of plant landscaping in people’s hearthas changedfrom the viewing angle and the psychological demand, into the increasingly high demand of theplant landscape art and the artistic conception. All of these have been reflected in the planning and design of plant landscape of golf.
