Rapid development of the wind power has the vital significance to the nationaleconomy and social development, but it also produced a series of problems that needurgent solution. Repair and maintenance of the wind power is the one of theseproblems. For the maintenance, operation and condition monitoring of wind turbines,deep study is urgently required. In this paper, sliding yaw system of the wind turbinesis researched. First, the parameters in the design and operation stages are analysise,then online monitoring system is designed and installed to acquire the real-timeoperational data. Based on the research of the data, Mechanism analysis method andrealtime data monitoring are applied to prediction of fault diagnosis.In order to get the operational charateristic of sliding yaw system and find thereason of fault of yaw system, V80wind turbine is researched as the typical subject.In this paper, Bladed Software is used to modelling of2MW wind turbine with thematerials and documents provided. Load of yaw bearing is analysized with11different yaw operation conditions and how tightening torque is influenced loadcharateristic of yaw system. On line monitoring system of yaw system is designedand practiced onsite. The vibration charateristic of yaw generator power and yawrestrictor is monitoring in order to realize fault prediction. Based on the research, thesuggestion on the operation, maintenance and technical transformation of yaw systemis proposed to avoid of fault deterioration.Based on the theoretical analysis and experiment onsite, the characteristics ofsliding yaw system is obtained to reveal the reason of fault of V80wind turbine yawsystem, which realizes the integrated prediction to fault. After that, the maintenancemeasures and the corresponding solution of reasonable fan yaw system are proposed.The research results in this paper provides the safe guarantee for the operation of the wind turbine, which is favorable for improving the stability of operation of the windturbine sliding yaw system, and reduction of the maintenance cost and fault loss withbetter economic benefits. It can be popularized in the wind power industry.
