Research On The Protection And Organic Renovation Of Historical Blocks In Hangzhou

With the accelerating of urban modernization, the problem between “protection and development”gradually become one of the main contradictions of urban development. As one of the most importantpart of urban heritage, historical blocks should be protected reasonably, and renewed in proper ways. Tomake the technique of protection as a kind of measure in the urban development, in order to improve thequality of historical blocks. Hangzhou is one of the first batch of national historical and culture cities,most historical blocks in the city have been protected and renewed continuously. Meanwhile, they alsohave to face the conflicting between historical protection and modern revival.This paper is based on the theory of sustainable development and the theory of organic renovation,as well as the current situation of the protection and organic renovation of historical blocks in Hangzhou.Take the historical blocks in Hangzhou as research samples, through the analysis of the impact factor inprotection and organic renovation of historical blocks in Hangzhou from the social, economic,environmental perspective; then take the the historical blocks of Xiaoying Lang, middle ZhongshanRoad and the west Gongchen Bridge as examples, combined with the satisfaction survey, summarize thepresent situation of the protection and organic renovation of historical blocks in Hangzhou; generalizethe key points of the protection and organic renovation of historical blocks in Hangzhou, which is basedon the backgrounds of the city and leaded by the government, by applying the public interest as a start,renovating the historical block into a block that is obviously in region features and rich in experiencelayers through the ways of small-scale incremental organic. Giving advice on the problems existing inthe work nowadays:1) introduce the market mechanism;2) promote the protection awareness of thepublic;3) strengthen technical supports;4) enhance public participation;5) advance mutualcommunication.At last, the paper takes Sixin Lane as an example, with the analysis on the key points anddifficulties in the protection and organic renovation of the block, to explore the development ofprotection and organic renovation work of historical blocks in Hangzhou in the future.
