Spatial Configuration Research Of Spring Settlements Based On Syntax

This paper rely on the National Science Foundation research project "Protection and Sustainable Development of The Typical Spring Settlements in Northern China", one of the important problems of this project is "The description and induction of type pattern on spring settlements spatial feature ", this paper introduce syntax theory to work on it.During the investigation of spring settlements in Northern China, this paper pick up four typical villages to exert the analysis which based on syntax. At the end we find out the spring play an important role in the spring settlements formation progress and when we protect and update the spring settlements, we should put more efforts to continue and reinterpret the deep configuration relationship of spring settlements spaces.The content of this paper have been divide into five parts:Chapter one, Exordium. this chapter elaborates the content, purpose and meaning of this research and mention the creativity of this paper’s stay point, meanwhile, it has also introduced the research status at home and aboard and the research object,Chapter two, according to the large amount of documents on traditional settlements spatial morphology research, we got a deep and thorough knowledge about it. Furthermore, we extent the research object to the spring settlements and point out the meaning of spring settlements spatial morphology research, this chapter has also fully described the research purpose and object of the whole paper.Chapter three suggest to solve the issue with syntax and verify its acceptability and practicability. Based on this, give a short statement about its theory principle and illustrate some examples to show the aspects syntax can apply. With this, this paper deeply discuss the computational method of syntax which can use to analysis the spring settlements space and fully explain the meaning of all the parameters and what the meaning can suggest in the spatial morphology way.Chapter four take Shuyuan,Huangsi, Zhujiayu and Niangziguan these four villages for example, use syntax software, depthmap to exert quantity analysis, get the parameter table and other results along with the spring node, common space, village culture and history etc. to interpret and analyze the spring spatial configuration. Compare the four village in order to summarize the variety of configuration features of different villages.Chapter five offer a closure to this whole paper, discuss the research and analysis of spring settlements space by take syntax as a research method, and explore the instructional significance about use this research results to protect and rebuild the spring settlements. Accent the syntax theory method used in this research can put out the conclusion rationally, compare with the other method which value experience observation and perceptual description, this research can get the results more objective and make this research progress more scientific.
